In general, courses taken at other nationally accredited colleges or universities will transfer to Truman. First year students may have earned college credit through three methods:
The grades earned in the transfer courses are calculated in each student’s cumulative grade point average. Students are required to have official transcripts sent from all colleges and universities through which credit has been attempted. Grades earned in the transfer courses are not calculated in each student's Truman grade point average and will NOT count towards the student's grade point average used for a Truman scholarship renewal.
Students from four-year universities may transfer any number of credits. Transfer students wishing to graduate in a baccalaureate degree program must earn a minimum of 45 credit hours at Truman, with the last 28 taken in residence. A minimum of 15 credit hours of required major coursework must be completed at Truman.
A transfer credit evaluation is automatically completed with each transfer admission application. When an evaluation is conducted, an academic worksheet specific to the major is created for each student and lists transferable credit that will fulfill major/degree requirements. The transfer grade point average is also calculated on the worksheet.
