Truman State University recognizes the importance of student scholarly work in every field of study. The University provides learning communities in which students and faculty work together on faculty-directed research projects. A student who is research-oriented or who plans to seek advanced training in his or her field may develop a research program which culminates in a research project with faculty. Truman undergraduates have published their research findings in national journals, presented at professional conferences, and participated in Truman’s annual research conference.
"What I like most about Truman is the undergraduate
research. I have developed a close relationship with a faculty mentor and have
learned research techniques and how to operate equipment that at larger schools
is solely reserved for professors."
